On a human interest note: Some of the TV footage of Katrina shown overseas included a few seconds of video showing a child's toy lying amid the rubble of a house. That has had the unprecented response of tens of thousands of school children around the world, especially Europe, wanting to donate their lunch money to "the little American boys and girls of Katrina". |
