F--- You Lizards

Mel's post about lizards reminded me about the Fuck You lizards of VN. This is one of the icons of the VN experience to alot of guys. I don't know what their range was, but I remember them mostly in the Central Highlands. Any of you guys remember them in other AO's?

They were called Fuck You lizards because of the call that they made. However, it was often a stretch to say that the call actually sounded like it was saying this phrase. In typical GI humor, we would call the lizards US and frogs RA [REEE-UP] .

The lizards were heavy bodied geckos about a foot long. Very large for a gecko. They could get pretty aggresive if messed with, and bite pretty hard. Saw one draw blood on a guy. They were pretty much nocturnal, so usually hard to locate. Pretty exotic creatures to this inner-city kid.
