Default Photo ID for voting in GA

"A new voter-identification law in Georgia that recently was approved by the Justice Department has angered civil rights groups, which say it will disenfranchise blacks, the elderly and rural voters.

State legislators said the new law requiring voters to present a photo identification, such as a driver's license or a state school ID, will prevent voter fraud and keep noncitizens from voting."

QUESTION: How does a photo ID requirement prevent anybody who is eligible to vote from voting? Are the critics of the photo ID requirement implying by their criticism that blacks, the elderly and rural voters are too stupid, lazy, or incapable of getting a photo ID, or that they are not photogenic enough?

Why isn't this a requirement mandated at a federal level? What's wrong with having more valid elections, or to put it another way, why would the Democrats object? Do they have a problem, inherently, with valid elections?

If people are unable to get something as simple as a photo ID, which is needed for so many other things, then they should not be allowed to vote. Oh, I'm sorry that was politically incorrect and insensitive, how awful of me.

I can't vote because I have a felony conviction.

Does this mean that I just have to go over the border and come back to be able to vote?

Hey Paco-Can you teach me how to say No hable english? Your command of languages is amazing!

So, show of hands now. How many think that the gripers and whiners give a fig about poor and elderly? Again show of hands, how many think ownership of the undefined is what they are really after?
Basic rule, if ya can?t define it, there is no way of managing whatever is happening. Same rule as is used in business, science, engineering and the medical arts, etc. The whiners and gripers know this rule and know it is diametrically opposed to their rule, which is no rule at all.
There are the same problems going on in Arizona with their new voter registration laws that require identification. The Dems are putting up a furious flack pattern there and for the identical reasons, just switch out the ethnic group and bingo, same speech but with a little different gravy.

Default Is this a pattern?

The owners of the houses that were condemned by the recent Supreme Court decision were of the "litle people" class, not wealthy in the monetary sense, not powerful in the politically connected sense, but just good ol' common ordinary folks. And who took their homes away from them? Liberals.

The poor, the minorities, the elderly are generally similar to the de-propertied class above, not wealthy, not connected, but just good ol' common folks. Who wants to protect their votes, by insuring that only registered voters participate in the voting process? Conservatives.

When the Social Security system was installed, the retirement age for collecting benefits was set at 65. Which group of people had a life expectancy tht high? It certainly wasn't the good ol' common folks, as they had to work harder, and generally died younger than their upper class fellow Americans. But who was it that wasn't looking out for the common folks? Liberals.

I could go on and on, but even the most dense among us should be able to grasp this.

I'll take it a step further...

There needs to be a NATIONAL photo ID, driver license and auto tags.

Arrangements can and should be made for those unable to physically get to a registration center.

Last statistic I read said that (if I recall correctly) there are roughly 2,000,000 Americans who cannot vote due to felony convictions.

Except in, maybe, some real real weird circumstances, I am vehemently opposed to that law... especially after a sentence has been served.
