Default a bad day hunting beats a good day fishing

But some may argue the point. Last year when Elk hunting in Colorado My cousin John took this picture of an Elk on Friday morning before hunting season started on saturday. My Son Bill and I saw him again on Friday evening but did not have a camera with us. We did not see him again during hunting season.

YES FOLKS YOU COUNTED RIGHT THIS IS AN 8X8 ELK.

His rack is in excess of 6 feet front to rear and close to 6 feet side to side. He weighs in around 1000 to maybe 1100 pounds. This is the only 8X8 I have ever seen.

Default Elk

Burgers are so good, as long as you have a Miller Lite, a camp fire and some friends.

Thumbs up 8X8

Saw one years ago in Montana. Yep, just before opening day. Them boys didn't live long enough to grow them racks by being stupid. It is a sight to see one of the big guys laying those antlers on it's back and RUNNING through a lodgepole pine forest where a rabbit wouldn't fit. Don't even bother trying to follow.

Great pic, Sid. Thanks.
