I wish your Mother knew
I got lost here just now and ended up in the Poetry Section, was going to exit when I saw the name Bob Bubon , sis's brother that passed. He and I wrote snail mail to each other once in awhile. Read his poem " Wed on the Hospital ship USS Repose " very good. Then I saw other Nam vets had posted their poems . Griz and a delta doc have a couple up. . Then I got to Bluebird , by Fred Deakins - Doc Fred . Then I got into a fierce sandstorm. I do not read much poetry but I would highly recommend a few minutes reading these poems for any Nam vet. Go to other options and scroll down to Sections and find Poetry. Thank you Bob , Griz , delta doc and Doc Fred for giving words to the feelings I still carry around. Damn sandstormes

Thanks, John. Benbow holds a special place of honor in the 15th Med. Here hopefully is his picture: http://groups.msn.com/15thmedassocia...to&PhotoID=398 You can brouse around and see more of us from Charlie Med if you like. By the way, a couple of years ago I got to talk to his neice and his sister. The parents are dead but at least his family knows now.

Hard to express what you want to say about Vietnam in words. Most of your thoughts are in your gut, and you deal with it by going to group and talking about your feelings and what you have experienced.

Hal, I had read your poem before. It had to be written by a medic. Your face was the last thing a bunch of them ever saw in this world.
