Default **Update 2** Coast Guard, local agencies respond to plane crash on the Hudson River

NEW YORK CITY — Coast Guard crews and local responders are responding to reports of a small plane crashing on the Hudson River, New York, Friday.



Divers of the New York Police Department recovered the pilot from the P-47 Thunderbolt aircraft that crashed on the Hudson earlier, Friday.



The New York Police Department will conduct Next of Kin notifications.



The Army Corps of Engineers is scheduled to conduct salvage operations of the aircraft Saturday.



Assets involved in the search include:

-Coast Guard Station New York

-New York Police Department

-New York Police Department Aviation Division

-New York Fire Deparetment

-New Jersey State Police

-And other local agencies are also responding.



The cause of the crash is under investigation.
