05-15-2017 04:57 AM Release Date: May 15, 2017 On May 5, 2017, President Donald J. It also includes funding for 40 miles of replacement border fencing, and funds FEMA state and local grants to prepare states, local governments, tribes, and territories at $2.7 billion, sustaining FY 2016 enacted levels, including $1.3 billion for state, local and tribal grants, $690 million for firefighter assistance grants, and $350 million for Emergency Management Performance Grants. Additionally, it funds U.S. Coast Guard operations at $344 million above the FY 2017 budget request, allowing the Coast Guard to continue procurement of advanced ships, aircraft and unmanned systems, as well as to address backlogs and repairs to facilities damaged by Hurricane Matthew.
