The General Schwarzkopf That We Knew

First of all, the man (General H. Norman Schwarzkopf) was a quintessential gentleman and a patriot, “and of this, there can never be any doubts!” And when he befriended our youngest son, (The Campo Commando), he did so because he believed in our country’s youth and in the future of our great nation! And along with the friendship that ensued, he saw our then eight year old son progress into a published author and a graduate of one of the finest aeronautical universities in the country!

Now this is not to say that this brief relationship was all “Cakes and Ale” (To quote Major General George S. Paton III, in a letter to our son, dated November 6, 1991)? Nor is it even to imply that life itself is forever easy or free?

Rather, what I am saying here is that existence itself can often be damned painful and trying at times! But no matter who you are, what your rank or status is or even your financial situation, No man or woman, including those who were born with a silver spoon in their mouths, is ever guaranteed ongoing success or even fame – and that is a fact that can be aptly verified by the record of an individual that was born into relative poverty in an “Old Bay State Town” that has known its fair share of intrigues and a history that has ranged all the way from the ridiculous to the sublime and from the painful to the forlorn and generally, all points in-between!

Getting back to General Schwarzkopf however and as history will readily attest (just like Generals U. S. Grant and Robert E. Lee), fame, although fleeting at times, can never and must never, be eradicated from the minds and the collective conscience of mankind!
And trying, as some might, to obliterate our sacred and indelible history, our enemies will rapidly discover that they can never erase the deeds nor even the unwritten fame, of “That Army of American Heroes” who were willing to give their all (in one fashion or another) to insure that the memory and the prowess of “The United States of America” and men like “Generals Norm Schwarzkopf, George S. Patton Jr, Donald J. Trump and even William Tecumseh Sherman as well, shall never fade from the gallant pages of “Our Illustrious United States History!”

And just because some of these men may now be physically departed, what they did in life to help secure and to protect “Our Tremendous Nation”, will truly live on forever and even throughout the annals of time infinitum itself!

And may “The Almighty” forever bless, protect and secure, “Our Magnificent Country and Her People”, a nation that took well over two hundred and forty-seven years of blood, sweat tears and toil, to create, to build upon, to prosper and to secure (and this with the courage and the élan of truly great men and women like - “The Illustrious George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Betsy Ross, Abraham Lincoln, George S. Patton, Colin Powell, Audie Murphy, Gregory (Pappy) Boyington, Guy Gabaldon and Even - General H. Norman Schwarzkopf Himself (just to mention a scant few)!

“And These Are But A Modicum of The Magnificent All American Heroes that Our Valiant Nation, and Our Constitution, always seems to sire and to honorably bring forth, during her times of greatest need!!”
