M 79 grenade launcer (blooper)
Been around a lot of gun shows and surplus stores over the years but have not seen the M-79. I am sure the round is illegal, but is it legal to own the blooper. Just curious as I found a box full of new, still in plastic bag, wooden forarm stocks. Got to thinking I might like a blooper strictly for my disply. Any one know about this?

M-79
was my personal firearm in Vietnam. I qualified expert in AIT and always enjoyed firing it. Didn't get to use it much, because of the jungle cover. I was usually manning the .50. You are right though, I don't recall seeing any around.

M-79 is only legal to own if you have a Class III license. It's considered a "Destructive Device". There are clones of the M-203 which are sold as "Flare Guns" but fire a 30 mm flare instead of the 40 mm round, those are legal.
