Default You want to get sick?

Go to

Check out the top 25 NFL salaries.
Then pick a team and check out all that teams salaries. The lowest paid guy on Oakland makes $346,000. this year. When I retired from the Fire Department I was making $55,000.
The lowest paid play on the Raiders would just laugh at my salary.
This salary thing with guys that play with a ball is just stupid.

I don't blame a pro athlete for taking the money if its offered to him. He'd have to be a complete idiot to say no, but at the same time he shouldn't say he deserves it. They'll all say that they are one miss-step away from a career ending injury but they've still made enough to keep themselves comfortable the many, many years if, of course, they handle it wisely. Then you've got the guys who buy the top-of-the-line everything including lots of gold chains and assorted jewelry for themselves and their entourages and just piss away their paychecks, or beat up the old lady and get sued, or have to pay multiple paternity checks.

They say that their games are dangerous and they could be injured for life or even killed but they should try driving MA highways at rush hour, twice a day, during a snowstorm, walking into a dark alley after an armed suspect, or going into a burning building to save someone who MIGHT be still in there, or be assigned to a 2nd tour of duty in Iraq. Now THAT'S dangerous!

Games is correct.
There are only two real sports out there, Auto racing and Bull fighting, each one you could die each time you do it. The rest are just games, Very few people die playing a game.

It's too bad that we as firefighters couldn't get that kind of salary. Doing something we enjoy, yet receive little gratitude. The risks that we would take are far greater than any ball player.

Alex Rodriguez salary in 2008 was $28,000,000... yes, million.

Jeters 2008 salary was $21,600,000.

Thats pretty upsetting.
