I just found this station 97.7 FM Xmas tunes all day pretty good - thought I'd share it.

Must be getting in the mood - But the wife is depressed again will have to find something for her to cheer her up.

I thought for a minute there that I had stumbled into pop-up hell when I went to that link.... !!! LOL

We have Christmas music all day long on the Muzak at work...8 hours of that is about all I can take.... LOL

I like Christmas music as much as the next guy but here in MA, WODS (103.3 FM) started playing it 24/7 since 11/28 and I've already hear at least a dozen versions of "Let It Snow" (which its supposed to do this weekend). And I do kinda like Madonna singing "Santa, Baby". Today they were on Armed Forced Radio and they set it up so you could leave voice messages to the troops, be it a particular soldier/sailor/airman/marine or just a general message to all of them. It was a nice touch. When some parents left messages for their son/daughter, you could hear the tears in their voices.

One thing that suprised me, though. They not only play popular Christmas hits, but also Christmas carols that actually mention Jesus and God and the Nativity! In these PC times, I was utterly amazed. My wife is a nurse at a large hospital here in central MA and they were told, no Christmas trees, no Nativities, no angels, etc. They could have decorations that say Happy Holidays and such, but they don't want to "offend" anyone. The Grinch who stole Christmas is a PC/SOB!!

But on the lighter side:

A little boy wanted $100.00 for Christmas, very badly, so he could get presents for his familyand prayed for weeks, but nothing happened. Then he decided to write a letter to Santa and one to God requesting the $100.00, thereby covering all his bases. When the postal authorities received the letter to God, USA, they decided to send it to President Bush. The president was so amused that he instructed his secretary to send the little boy a $5.00 bill. The president thought this would appear to be a lot of money to a little boy. The little boy was delighted with the $5.00 bill and sat down to write a thank-you note to God, which read: "Dear God: Thank you very much for sending the money. However, I noticed that for some reason you sent it through Washington, DC and those jerks deducted $95.00 in taxes."

Deputies: Fla. Men Stole Christmas Trees To Buy Crack

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. -- [/b]Two men arrested for stealing Christmas trees from a Rotary Club tent said they intended to exchange them for crack cocaine or food, deputies said. A Lee County Sheriff's deputy noticed a maroon van parked at a gas station stuffed with four Christmas trees and five stands. When the deputy asked the men where they got the trees one responded he stole them "to trade for crack cocaine or food," the sheriff's report said.



Gary Verne Gapinski, 43, and Clarence Joseph Crowley, 38, were arrested for burglary Tuesday, and booked into Lee County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail each. "The sad part of it is that anyone would steal Christmas trees," said Paul Helbing, who is in charge of tree sales for the Bonita Springs Rotary Club. Helbing said the stolen trees and stands were worth about $350. It could not be determined whether Crowley or Gapinski had attorneys. Bonita Springs is about 20 miles south of Fort Myers.

I don't know what's more sad, that those guys stole a Christmas tree or that they let their lives go so far down the hole because of drugs that they felt compelled to steal something like it to get more drugs.

Tree Made of Beer Cans Draws Controversy at Tree Festival

Sandy, Utah (AP) - Organizers at a Festival of Trees in Utah are telling one exhibitor to cover up part of her tree.

Carole Robinson's display is named "Jingle Buds." It's constructed out of 1500 open Bud Light cans.

Organizers say they're concerned about the message the tree sends. So they've asked her to cover up some of the cans.

Robinson says she had gotten permission before-hand for her idea, but planners say the theme wasn't clear to them ahead of time.

Robinson says she's unhappy with what the finished product looks like, but she's agreed to the compromise so her tree can stay on display and raise money for a children's hospital.
