February 1966 (1st and 2nd months, Year of the Horse [Binh Ngo])(US Coutneroffensive): The first SEAL platoon, consisting of counter-insurgency specialists, arrives in the Mekong Delta, along with more personnel for operations Market Time and Game Warden. February 13, 1967 (5th day of the 1st month, Year of the Goat [Dinh Mui]) (US Counteroffensive, Phase II): Operation Enterprise begins. February 13, 1968 (15th day of the 1st month, Year of the Monkey [Mau Than]) (US Tet Counteroffensive): Operation Coronado XI begins - note dual purpose of this operation during Tet-68. February 13, 1968 (15th day of the 1st month, Year of the Monkey [Mau Than]) (US Tet Counteroffensive: Tet-68 update. February 13, 1969 (27th day of the 12th month, Year of the Monkey [Mau Than]) (US Counteroffensive Phase VI): Incident reference: 69021320.BAT. Note: Sgt. Arroyo will distinguish himself again in April, though this time he is wounded, and for both incidents he was awarded the 1969 Cheney Award, which is presented annually for an "act of valor, extreme fortitude, or self-sacrifice in a humanitarian interest performed in connection with an aircraft," but not necessarily of a military nature. February 13, 1969 (27th day of the 12th month, Year of the Monkey [Mau Than]) (US Counteroffensive Phase VI): A squad of US marines engages the enemy in a firefight near Cam Lo Resettlement Village while guarding a convoy. February 1972 (29th day of the 12th month, Year of the Boar [Tan Hoi]) (US Consolidation I): Allied tactical aircraft sorties, flown mostly by South Vietnamese Air Force pilots in response to increased enemy activity along the Ho Chi Minh Trail and in the DMZ, include 24-hour "maximum strike efforts" against suspected Communist targets nearly Pleiku and in the DMZ.
