Thanks for the nice words guys it means alot to me. andy the soda machine went from the half deck just forward of the midship which is alittle forward of the forward stack and halfway down to the mess deck all the way to the bottom of neptunes locker somewhere around Guam. P.S. who said Boatswainsmates only chipped paint we know how to get rid of a nucence too

Scamp I forgot to tell you I had a chance to ship out with the Canberra in 1967 it was just about ready to leave on an around the world cruise It could have been late 1966 I'm not sure but some dumb Sn Boatswainsmate just got married and didn't want to leave his bride. But I wanted to stick with my buddys and besides I was a tincan sailor who could ask for any thing more.

Chris,
The trip around the world turned out to be a myth. The only place the Canberra went was to the 7th fleet, VN task force. Ya didn?t miss a thing and were doing the same thing as the Canberra was doing only with less armor and smaller calaber mounts. You were dancing like a butter fly and stinging like a bee and we were the gun paluka with the KO punch. We couldnt drop a projectile down a pickle barrel but there had better not be any pickle barrels within 800 meters diameter unless some one wanted a bunch of relish.
