You are trying to establish there is a difference between medals and ribbons.? Anytime the Navy, Army, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard, is awarding "decorations" to an individual, it always reads as "Medals" and not "ribbons"on the certificate. With the exception of the "unit" awards. The Presidential Unit Citation, Valorous Unit, and Meritorious Unit Commendation, being the ones with a ribbon only and not in medal form When a medal is awarded it come in a case, with a ribbon that must be worn on the uniform, not the medal. Medals are worn in special ceremonial times. I will try to make it clear to you, when an individual gets a medal there is also a ribbon.. meaning the same.. Can I make it more clearly for you.? If the award has no medal, the ribbon takes precedence. I have never heard the these words.. "how many ribbons did you earn in the service" It is always as."How many medals did you earn in the service". Now do you think I'm still "misinforming" to to all? |

![]() Every medal has a ribbon that goes with it but not all ribbons have a medal. Take the Army Service Ribbon or Overseas Service Ribbon or NCO Professional Development Ribbon for example, or the Marine Corps Combat Action Ribbon. Now the Ribbons that
"Hanoi" John Kerry threw over the wall represented the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, National Defense, Vietnam Campaign and Vietnam Service MEDALS. Kerry threw HIS Ribbons and someone else's Medals over the wall...........he KEPT his Medals for his "I Love Me" wall. |

![]() Whether Combat Earned medal, ribbon or badge like The CIB, and even Purple Hearts,...publicly throwing such away demeans and insults ALL in The Military HAVING ACTUALLY EARNED SUCH.
Therefore, and since only a cavalier or political fool would knowingly, insultingly and so openly do so to fellow countrymen and/or once comrades in arms for political gain and notoriety,...truly makes one wonder as to the honesty, integrity, and overall trustworthiness of the man? I personally wouldn't feel comfortable buying a used car from such, or probably even a used bicycle from someone so perpetually suspect of ACTUAL intent,...much less put my: "Life, Liberty and The Pursuit of Happiness" in Kerry's hands and/or the wannabe leader of The Free French, German, Russian and UN World. I honestly believe that the pathological career-liar Clinton and/or: "Slick Willy" could be better trusted to do what's best for America and Americans,...rather than for foreigners and The UN, even though "He" too would be quite a stretch. ![]() Agreed Advisor, except I?m not so sure the DNC came up with the Kerry deal. I think Teddy did and I think he took advantage of the massive food fight going on between the Deanians and the DNC to kick the door off the hinges. Then this supposed ?Black Knight? came thundering out of nowhere to save the day for the Democrats. So I suppose Teddy bought himself a candidate and I can?t help but wonder what the pay pack arrangements are. Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy ride again and it isn?t too terribly difficult to figure out who the dummy is. Hint; it?s the more rational of the two and probably the more sober one.
