Post My Friend's Son

My good friend's son just graduated from basic training. He is a college graduate. Major is music. He is an exceptional pianist (piano player) and will be assigned to play the piano or keyboard for one of the Army's major orchestras. When he graduated from basic he received the rank of SP/4 automatically and his salary was negoiated to be that of a 1st LT. Really a nice young man! At least they made him go through basic! He'll feel like he really was in the Army. Didn't know you could negoiate your salary before enlistment. (I think its based on education and experience)

I didn't know you could either. When I went in the Army my salary was $77 a month. Guess there is a program called stripes for skills.
