Eads Collection Media Type: Oral History (Digital) Length: 4 24:42 hr/min/sec Description: (USAF) William F. Eads was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1943. His father, a US Navy serviceman, was at Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941. Bill enlisted in the US Air Force in 1962. He completed Basic Training at Lackland AFB and aircraft maintenance training at Sheppard AFB. In 1963-65 Bill was based in Japan where he supported KB-50 tanker aircraft and visited many bases in Australia and Southeast Asia, including Vietnam. He was also TDY at Udorn, Thailand, for two months in late 1964. After serving in the US, Bill returned to Udorn in August 1967. He was then TDY to Pakse and Vientiane, Laos, until May 1968. Bill's Air Force career also included a tour at Andrews AFB (1968-70) and two tours in Ankara, Turkey (1978-80, 1981-82). |
