True, I don't know much about netkopping. So, how did Compty find out Alan
had been tossed?

Wrong, Compty, I ALWAYS use my real name, which is Alan, unless I am
very obviously forging someone.BTW, I'm from the UK, however I spend
my life between Japan and the Philipines, an various places in
between, and I've lost more usenet accounts than you've had hot women.

On my first trip back stateside, we stopped in Hawaii. Funny thing, I don't
remember anybody missing. What really irritated me was that everyone else
arriving in Hawaii got beautiful Leis to wear around their necks. I wanted
one for my Mother. Being December and returning to Michigan, a nice flower
garland of exotic tropical flowers would have been nice. We didn't get
them, I seareched the airport for a couple hours looking for a flower shop.
Oh, well.

In later years, I rationalised that agricultural products from abroad would
not be allowed back, but for those couple hours I was really bummed.

Dammit, Dave, will you knock off the LSMFT? I only quit about twelve years
ago, and I'm still dying for a Lucky.

I do understand your angst. I'd still walk a mile for a Camel. Of course,
I've only been dry about 5 years now.

I ssuppose he read Alan's account. Seems to be a lot of folks living in
Google. You haven't lived on usenet til you've been tossed. I got canned
from a free server once for posting an insult translated online into suppose, Cyrillic>, and in a font so rare that even *I* had trouble finding
it. They spent a few days in translation, trying to figure 'what to
complain about', and of course the free servers don't get paid for
answering complaints. So you come back online in a few days and sign in to
the same server using another signup name. (you don't sign up using your
*real* name when plotting a raid.)

Jones/Alan et.al. spend less time switching accounts than the original
idiot spent writing a complaint.

When I complain, it's about chain letters, kiddie porn or software piracy.
My first complaint goes to the FBI site for internet fraud, etc. If you
think you can't be busted with kiddie porn without posting a pic, you are
mistaken. The software piracy is best handled by the industry itself. (I
have a new 'puter', so I don't have the links available.) I nailed a
spammer who had set up a fake secure site for payment; the html on the
page emailed [EMAILED!!!!] your credit card details to this joker. It looked
like a secure site, but I got into his code to see what he was doing. (site
displayed an "expired certificate" warning, but some folks aren't set up to
view those warnings) The folks I feel sorry for are the hicks that don't
know chain letters are illegal, don't know that internet fraud is interstate
fraud, and copy/paste someone else's BS without knowing the possible
penalties.

It's a big world, lots of naiive newbies and lots of hucksters. People are
still dying over the Nigerian Scam, still believe in trusting strangers to
mail them a dollar, and think they are anonymous in Usenet.

(and "easter" bunnies shit jelly beans)

Lei shops have always been an integral part of the Honolulu
airport.

X-URL:

1952* "Lei stands near the main entrance at Honolulu International
Airport are completed in June."

Anyone could have told you where they were. Cut flowers, seeds,
plant cuttings, and flower leis can be carried or shipped to the
mainland with no problems -- no uninspected soil or fruit. The lei
shops at the airport can ship them for you. You can order lei's from
a number of places online through URL:

Flowers.html
