Rest easy in that you are not alone, neither with your struggles nor your goals.

Thank you very much for haveing the courage to trust us with one of your nightmares.

Have had a fair amout of problems along those lines myself but have never had the balls to talk with anyone about them except just to acknowledge that I have nightmares.Guess I'm just a wuzz,but I kinda wonder if it might not be a better idea to just let sleeping demons lie.

Hope with all my heart that getting that demon out in the sunlight will make things better for you.

...all is different for us in terms of circumstances, and events, however your portrait of "release of pain" struck a chord with me that I didn't want to repond to at first, sometimes I need 24 to reflect before advancing,...

...my nightmare started creeping in ever so slowly wayback when, at first it was only once a month where I would quickly banish the thought, and try to move on, and the more I would try to send it deeper away, the more it fought it's way out,...

...It started with names, I had no names to put to the faces, every time it would startle me awake, I would wonder what their names were, 18 years was long enough of waking up intermittedly,...

...shots fired, people scrambling, and my disarming him, and I've got him in the spread eagle position, time is passing, and my arms, and wrists are fatiguing, can't let go, I see his face grimicing, and twisting, the barrel of his 357 is under his ribs, and I know it's gouging into his side,...

...then, an "unfaced" "friend" of his comes along my left side, and I feel another barrel against my temple, and the last words I hear everytime is "Come on Leroy, let's go", and then "BLAM", and that is my point of re entry into the world of awake,...

...I called him,(Calvin), Leroy in my nightmares because I never knew any names for 18 years until I had to go back, and find out what happened to all the other people involved, I thought "Herold" was dead, after all, a 357 through the chest, and the way he flew backwards surely did him in,...

...finding out what did happen with names to the faces through the three years of investigating has helped, and actually speaking to Harold after all this time did ease some concerns, but,...

The reason that I posted this,to be honest,was twofold.First,and I feel most importantly,is to share the success that I have garnered in the work that I`ve done in lessening the horor of this dream.While at American Lake VAMC,I had the honor of being counseled by Bob Coulson,a renowned "Dreamworker".I didn`t get it when Bob kept telling me to write it down or to draw a picture of it-until I finally did it.The two black spots in the picture are from tears that fell on the chalk as i did it,and the release continued..and does until this day.In the past,on this forum,I have encouraged any of you who experience recurring nightmares to give this means of therapy a shot.I`m here to tell you-it works.
Secondly,For me.The number of people that have seen this can easily be counted on one hand.I mean how many can you trust enough to have a look into that scarey part of your mind?But it was starting to rear it`s head again,and I thought posting it here will help.We`ll see.

Aren?t those demons the mother of all mothers? Like 39 I have one that reoccurs from time to time.

I?m leading a squad in tall dry elephant grass, there is a wind blowing toward us. We discover there is a fire headed our way. We know there is a brook (that?s a creek to you southern boys), and run towards it. When we get to the brook, Charles is on the other side firing at us. Pinned down, the fire racing towards us, everyone asks me what do we do?

That?s it, end of dream. Damn things are so real, all the senses are in play. There are lots of us with those demons, it seems best to let them out and for me, mock them.

Griz, keep on truckin'.
