Carling Black Label and a nauseous liquid known as Lucky Lager .And the cans were rusty . Truckers and grunts must have been on the bottom of the food chain.

One of our biggest procurements next to booze was matresses another big one was pillows.... After a few months everyone had a matress. We even had them in the bunkers.

Those Army matresses were thin. you could roll em up like a sweet roll and carry them anywhere.

We were expert thieves. When we went to Quon Loi I never got a supply I didn't steal. We robbed the 24th Evac Hospital and actually CAed into a Dental Unit in the middle of the night for xray supplies. We couldn't get anything and our NCO's could have cared less.

Have fond memories of teaming up with a gun truck outfit up at Dong Ha CB & hijacking a couple of pallets of beer. Damn, drank for nothing for about 3 months!
Being attached to a MACV team, we never got a thing..had to depend on the Viets or the MACV supply goons for everything..could not get RPG wire, ammo (for GOD'S SAKE), decent food without trading, stealing or scrounging. Our team ops sgt spent 90% of his time requisitioning (ahem) supplies. One time we got a new jeep (set a record for repainting..LOL).
