Chris,

I'm glad you are there for him. And I know you wouldn't have it any other way.I've seen more than one vet go into the desperado mode not letting anyone get close but when you start hitting theseyears on the back side of your lifeit just "ain't" good for a man to be walkin' through this world all alone. God Bless your heart brother for being there. Sis

Chris :

Tell your friend for me that the same exact thing happened to me at the IRS. I crawled in the bunker 3 1/2 years ago and management made my life a living HELL. The union helped me with three grievances and to get my FMLA rights. Be sure he takes his meds and finds a good doctor and therapist. Check on him every day. I am about 50% of the way back now....thanks in no small part to my friends here, my wife and kids, the NTEU union stewards, and my pastor, who just happens to be my best friend at work as well. You both are in my prayers !!

Larry

Thanks guys you made me feel good. I gave him some of my prozac supply since he's been without since he got fired in july of last year. but the good news is the VA put him on the fast track and bumped up his priorty because he has a couple purple hearts. at least I know he'll calm down a little. meds cost way tooo much if you don't have a job.

George just sent me a e-mail here at work . he told me he didn't sleep the whole night before we took him out to American Lake somehow he felt it was a one way trip and they would lock him up. well anyway he told me when he got home yesterday he was so relieved that he slept for thirteen hours stright. whoa he must have a bladder the size of texas I know I could never go that long without relieving myself. he's going to do good I just have a good feeling. Now its up to him and the VA

I was in Nursing School in the 1970's. I went to Mountain Home VA Hospital's closed psychiatric unit as part of my training. It was almost exactly like One Flew Over the Coocoo's Nest. It is a different world now. Some are better than others but none are like they were. I hope George finds some healing and peace. I think he will. Tell him welcome home.

Minneapolis has an excellent in house treatment program. Have done the two week in-patient course twice in the last six years. Each time have gotten back on track and done much better afterwards.

Now, I have been going in to urgent care for the last three weeks with numbness in right leg and foot. Had MRI yesterday and went back for the follow up today. Report shows ruptures at L3-4, L4-5 and L5-S1. The NURSE Practitioner who did my follow up told me "this is just temporary, you will be fine within a week or so" gave me valum and sent me home.

Never knew ruptured disc repaired themselves. The wonders of modern medicine!!!
