They didn't have MRE's during Vietnam (thank God!) They didn't come out until the 80's. What you ate in Vietnam that was freeze dried were LRRP Rations. They were pretty good. I liked the Beef and Rice and the Chicken and Rice. Doctored up with the local Vietnamese Hot Peppers they were pretty good. Only problem was that you had to have a good supply of water.

I had the priviledge to sample (and still have several cases of) the latest issue MREs. Compliments of the Florida National Guard during hurricane Ivan.

The main unit comes with a chemical heater activated by water, and it gets HOT! Chemicals stink a little though.

They're pretty tasty.

Them little bottles of Hot sauce will explode if thrown into a camp fire :-) But, they do improve the taste of many of the MRE's

Default We have not discussed in a while

The most indestructible food known to man. JOHN WAYNE BARS.
AKA Hersheys Tropical Chokelat About the only VN war lie I have not heard yet is where someone killed a NVA with a JW Bar.

OK Sid I'll create one.......While running convoy to where ever....We were attacked by a division of NVA.....I grabbed this one general during hand-to-hand making him a POW. Before transporting him back we stuffed a John Wayne bar up his ass and he couldnt $hit right for a month (One of the great lines from the movie "Bad Santa") Before the month was up due to severe constipation.....He exploded, thus killing an NVA with a John Wayne bar......Hows that for BullShit

John
After reading this, I have faced reality....Im a sick puppy
