Wasn't it considered a bad move to load the M16 with multiples of three rounds - the M16 has a burst of three rounds when the trigger is pulled, but not held, on full auto - due to likelihood that you would not know your magazine was empty until your next shot (which might be too late)? |

You will also hear stories about how they were not allowed to put more than 17 rounds in a 20 round magazine (even though the magazine was specifically designed for 20 rounds) and that they were not allowed to fire an automatic weapon on automatic... Is it any wonder we lost the war? |

The US was long gone before the war was lost but I do wonder how we managed to do so well what with the stories you tell about soldiers killing all their NCO's and officers, leaving downed aircrews in the field to fend for themselves and assorted atrocities in which you alternately claim to have participated and then denied doing so. Why that must shock even a defrocked Minister like yourself. Unless, of course, you thought you had to lie to be accepted in AWV as you also claimed. BTW, do you bring these incidents up when you claim that you attend your unit reunions? Have you seen the Rev. Steer and his wife since you lied to her on the phone as you said and she confirmed? Well you know how it is Sybull, some people can tell a story and some people just burn shit. Why don't you tell your fellow vets again how you had each claymore named for a different V.C., thats always a good one for a slow weekend. |

You never know with him. I am waiting for the next round of his war stories to tell us he was the first ever to use a laser in combat. He has certainly broken new ground before as you and everyone else on this newsgroup knows. |

Well don't forget Patrick, he WAS a starship trooper....we already know about those little rocket boosters on his boots which allowed him to levitate over, instead of through, elephant grass. I think the root of all his problems can be traced back to all the times he was beamed up and down like an elevator to the starship....he didn't get all his particles back from the transporter bay and the result is what you see today...he's incomplete....he doesn't know who the hell he is - Latrine Boy, Sybil, Troopervet, Alligator Al, Rusty, Dusty or Crusty and who the hell knows who else. For all we know he could be a Dalek. .. |

For all we know he could be a Dalek. I sure know one thing. If I came on a newsgroup with over 200 vietnam vets, assorted and sundry guests and casual observers over a period of time and someone from one of my units called me a liar, charlatan, shitburner and such I would be so embarrassed I would leave and never come back. I wouldn't do so even if I could change my name every other week. Dave got it right, what do you suppose its like to be a sybull shultis? We are not talking about a bad month or even a year with him, but five years worth of it now. Geez! > >. > |

You mean you were not issued those rocket boosters when you arrived in country?
