With regard to the WTC, I?m thinking that big and tall isn?t what is needed as much as a memorial and something that represents the day the world changed forever. I would like to see business return and buildings that represent the spirit of the people of New York and of the International community of people that suffered as well and yet have kept the faith. In this thought, I don?t necessarily see that big and tall is best. I see beauty, pride, memories, the elegance of the human experience and spirituality as well as practical structural functionality as being the prime criteria. But then, I?m not sure all these things come in the same package but I do see it is a challenge in the journey to get there.

Oh, by the way Dan. The gismo I got to get rid of the Telemarketing nuisance works just great. For the first time in a very long time I have turned my phone ringers back on and am beginning to feel ?normal? about picking up the phone. Thanks for your suggestions, I appreciate that.

The papers have had them plastered on the news for days. Personally, I think they are all a joke. Let's start with the fact that few people will never want to occupy a building that tall again. Secondly most of the WTC occupants have already negotiated long term leases out of town. Thirdly a tall building is just another target for another suicide pilot.

Build two or three towers exactly like the trade center in appearance but only 40 stories or so and leave it at that, is how I feel.

I don't really think it will matter what we build, they will come after it. If you think about what they did. Yes, they attached the USA on our soil, but it goes deeper than that. They attacked the whole world. They brought the entire world to it's knees. Anything reconstructed with the the moniker of World Anything on it will be placed at the top of their list. The main reason it has become a US against the terrorist war is because we will not sit back and allow it to happen. We are taking the fight to them and not waiting, as other countries have chosen to do, to see what happens next. What we are fighting is an ideology and gentlemen you can not beat it. Everyone that we put in jail or kill becomes a martyr. Don't get me wrong, if they would let me I would leave tomorrow, and yes I have called and they said maybe if Canada invades they would call me. I am afraid we are fighting a open ended battle with slim to no hope for victory.

I hope very much not to offend here. The outcome in Veitnam is a perfect example of fighting an ideaology. I know about the politics and all but I am talking about the battlefield. I have read accounts of kill ratios as high as 25 to 1, and they kept coming back. They believed in what they were doing and there was no sacrifice great enough that caused them to quit. The Islamic Fundlmentalist is no different, they believe in what they are doing and there is not a sacrifice large enough to get them to stop.
