Default BLUE.....

"Common sense" hell!! Apparently they don't even subscribe to that sensible: "A Slip of The Lip...." logic, even in Iraq.

Today was shown on TV that even The Military broadcasts and/or announces visits in: "Hostile Indian Territory". Some General with a large convoy and heavy back-up was ambushed by small arms and RPG's. Fortunately he survived and will be able to make other visits (hopefully unannounced in the future).

Neil, I agree with you. How can we help ourselves if we can't stop ourselves??

Default Blue & Sparrow...

Understand Your/Our frustrations. Unfortunately most all in authority do not, and seem more concerned about conducting politically correct warfare and/or not offending any foreigners by simultaneously covering everyone on earth by The U.S. Constitution,...so as to not hurt anyones feelings (even a murderous enemy). It just doesn't seem to matter that: "America's Finest" (Americans in general also) are perpetually placed in untenable and/or non-winnable positions,...and also as likely and possible targets of opportunity.

Besides,No one in history ever won ANYTHING, when being perpetually kept on The Defensive,...and especially when confronting a vicious, fanatical and/or: "All is fair in love and war" enemy or enemy not having detrimental or politically-correct Rules of Engagement to stop whatever murders next desired.

The enemy being unknown and clandestine, plus FULLY & WISELY UNDERSTANDING & UTILIZING that: "A Slip of The Lip...." concept QUITE WELL (slipped when wanted - zipped when needed),...makes matters even worse for America than need be. Hope SOMEONE wakes up soon. Believe we're running out of time.

Sorry Friends. But, I: "Calls-em as I sees-em".

Default WORSE THAN IMAGINED!!!!!!!!

The reason for once again taking: "A Slip of The Lip...." off of the-back-burner for much needed discussion, is due to Geraldo Rivera and associates' brush with death in Iraq yesterday. Honestly Friends, I take no pleasures saying: "I told you so", and especially when American Lives are at stake.

FORTUNATELY, out of the 3-4(?) civilian vehicle convoy attack, only one slight casualty (a grazing shoulder wound to an Iraqi driver) was suffered. I've emphasized: "FORTUNATELY", since apparently WELL INFORMED (picked RIGHT vehicles out of MANY on a heavy traffic highway) choose only to use AK-47's for The Attack. Given the abundancy of RPG's and heavier explosives normally available to such assassins,...believe that Geraldo and crew were very lucky.

Regardless, and even during our absurd politically-correct warfare, relying on PURE DUMB LUCK instead of much wiser and much safer secretiveness and/or a historically normal wartime footing,...is as stupid as it gets. It doesn't matter that those in authority don't see the dangers of such,...DUMB IS DUMB IS DUMB.

Besides, since: "9/11" and insuing wartime, haven't those in authority and also The Press/Media YET realized that whatever information, plans or intelligence ARE OPENLY DISCLOSED to The Public, are also automatically DISCLOSED to our many murderous enemies,...and WITHIN SECONDS.

America better quickly make up its mind, Want to INSTEAD become quite differently sensible, wiser, tactically or militarily secretive and/or go on a historically normal wartime footing,...and REMAIN ALIVE? Or, remain quite stupid and/or TOTALLY OPEN ABOUT EVERYTHING,...and DEAD? Truly that simple.

Hey,..."The meek (no doubt exceptionally benevolent societies also) shall inherit the earth",...is only a-pipe-dream in scripture. In The Real World, killing and destroying a fanatically-murderous enemy quicker and better than "They" can do unto YOU/US/WE,...is truly all that matters.

Neil -
In the old days, didn't a reporter, like Pyle, have to sign on with the service to get assigned to a unit? Wouldn't that be the way to keep doing things? Maybe mo' betta?

Default BLUE.....

Before my time, so don't really know.

Regardless, you can bet your bippy that if Ernie Pyle (OR EVEN Mrs. Pyle) sent out anything over the air waves that even slightly aided or informed the enemy,...THEY BOTH would've been taken out and shot.

Back then, the enemy (just like us) had to go out on dangerous reconnaisance patrols to find-out anything about their adversaries. Nowadays, our fanatical enemies need only turn on their TV's to find out ANYTHING about Americans, and possibly even the weaknesses of our kitchen sinks.

What an absolutely stupid and suicidal shame. Plus, and add to that,..."America's Finest" STILL must go out on dangerous reconnaisance missions for any and all intel about the enemy.

Default BLUE...

It's truly too bad that only here on patriotfiles.com a few realize that such an asinine openness (even towards fanatical enemies) puts all Americans and especially Our Military at more risk,...THAN SHOULD EVER NEED BE.

Before this current politically-correct warfare, I would have thought that after: "9/11" and the very first ambush in Afghanistan,...both Our Leaders and The Press/Media would've automatically kept their collective MOUTHS SHUT, especially about anything encouraging, helping or aiding the enemy.

Shows what-the-hell I know?

Don't ya sometimes wonder though just HOW open our government is being when it puts stuff out. If I were them, I cage my words severely, and maybe that IS what they do now? Pretty sure it is (or OUGHT to be!)
