Nah, this is a hillbilly squirrel. Squirrel and dumplins, pinto beans, turnip greens and cornbread. Have some chow chow and raw onion for the beans and some vinegar for the greens. For dessert, fried dried apple pies, many as you want.

Oh yikes, wasn?t Hal (HAL) that malevolent computer thought disabled and made inert in 2001. Now we know the real story, not disabled or at all inert but on the loose..... :ek:

Bob...let me help you!
First, it is okra, learn it, love it, eat it...that way there is less for me, hate that slimy stuff! Second, chow-chow is raw burger. Dad used to love to eat it on crackers with raw onions. Could smell him coming for two blocks! Third, while in the mountains, stay away from Mountain oysters, Doc Fred might just try to pull a fast one on ya! Good luck and have fun! Trav

WRONG !!!!!!
Okra is good !! It is an essential ingredient of real cajun gumbo. It can be fried and is better that way than the boiled way u mentioned ! Chow Chow is green relish ( combo of green tomatoes, red and green peppers, onions, vinegar, sugar and spices...some put cabbage in, but it is not in my mom's recipe ) ....it is for eating on peas and beans.....There is also red pepper ( sweet pepper relish ) that is good also on same ...never heard of eating raw hamburger meat around these parts...UGH ! Doc Fred you all the components of a feast with the squirrel ! Larry

Travis , If you're ever in Valentine, Nebraska the restraunght next door to the local motel (Super 8) you can get a nice order of Mountain Oysters there or room service
 so you got to look out for them on the northern plains too.
