Kasey was practicin today and he asked his spotter who's that in the #44 Toyota and it was Old Dale Jarret in the new UPS Toyota and he pulled the #1 bottle of beer last nite, after Mark Martin Turned it down talk about luck of the Draw eh?

Heres what Fox Sports has to say about Jr."Dale Earnhardt Jr. says that ownership in Dale Earnhardt Inc. is still the prevailing issue in his contract negotiations with the company his father founded. Speaking at NASCAR Media Day on Thursday, Earnhardt Jr. said that he wanted majority ownership in the team owned and operated by his stepmother, Teresa. Asked if he wanted more than 50 percent ownership, Earnhardt Jr. said, "Absolutely." ... "The main factor is the ownership part," Earnhardt Jr. said. "It has nothing to do with money and nothing else, really. I really like my team. ... Everything is on the upswing. But my father has been gone for five, six years now, and I want majority ownership."

Ron: I still say Jr. is being a brat thinking he deserves 51% of DEI when he has Brother Kerry, Sister Kelly and Sister Taylor from the 3 marriages Dale Sr had kids from. Dale Sr when he started his children Kerri,Kelly and Dale Jr in Racing with a late model stock car they all shared equally as Driver. So It would be Dale Sr's wish that when Teresa steps down" ALL OF HIS CHILDREN SHARE EQUALLY" that was the way Dale Sr treated his children from 3 marriages. Though 18yr old Taylor is probably the most Daddy's girl and spoiled being the baby of the family

BTW, I still am rooting for Cousin Carl in the Duals and Kenny Schrader in tonites Busch Clash or Bud Shootout to all the new Nascar fans

Jr. and DEI
.The story about Jr. in NASCAR.Com is a story from Thru Feb 8th. Dale signed on the 9th like I said. NASCAR sometimes puts stories up late and doesn?t update them.

When Jr.s Dad made DEI , Dad was 85% of the company and the rest of the Kids and shops were 15% . When Dale died, That left a huge void for DEI.
Jr. did Teresa and the Company a big Favor by staying with the company while his Name and the Bud #8 were down 90% of the company. Jr is asking for 51%, That?s not a Brat thing, it?s business, and very sound business for Teresa. There is no DEI without Jr.
So Teresa has a big choice, 49% of a multi million $ company or 100% of a company that will looses money if Jr. leaves.
Jr. wants control. That?s not an unrealistic approach for someone who is the bread winner of the company. If I were Jr. I would ask and get 75% of the company. Or Make a new company called DEI Jr. and get 100% .

The Casey story is most likely Bogus. Everyone that has anything to do with NASCAR knew DJ was Going to drive the 44 and UPS was going with him. I guess Casey will ask who is driving the 88 next. Makes for a warm fuzzy story but has no reality in it.

I can go back to watching racin' this year because my boy Ward Burton is back! He's with the Morgan McClure team, that's been having problems for years. Not expecting much, but at least they got a driver without ego problems and just loves racin' and his wildlife fund. I do expect the #4 to do much better than it has in years, but a one car team doesn't have much of a chance anymore.

Ron, still can't find where this is a done deal with Jr. Like you, not a fan so it really doesn't make any differance to me. Mark Martin's driving a Chevy this year. That's a big switch.

ps, pac.
Get another driver hero. Ward and NASCAR had a huge falling out, and NASCAR will NEVER let Ward win any race.

And while we are Talking NASCAR .

The Toyota will only run 15 race's this year.
Mark Martin will race a part-time schedule in the No. 01.

Ricky Rudd will not run well in the 88.

And sorry Pako, Ward is going to have a very hard time in the inspection lane for qualifying.

NASCAR has changed its "Chase" format to decide its champion.
Instead of 10 people in the Chase, there will be 12. And the first 26 races will not only decide the top 12, But hears a good one,
The number of wins will determine the Points position of that car for the last 10 race's. This is going to be the most F-ed up scoring that NASCAR has ever decided to do.

(SO , the guy with the most wins, who also has 5 NNF's and was 7 in the standings , Is now, in First at the end of 26 races. ? HUUU. And the Guy that was in First, because he was the most consistent in top 5's is now in 10th because everyone above him has a win? again , HUUUUU.

David Gilliland did well in his first Shotout with the big boys. Now he has the poll for the 500 looks like someone driving a RYR car might get Rookie of the Year for Ford this year. Dale Jr was told at the pitstop to tone it down and on the last lap caused a pile up not a good start for the 8 team. The Deuce came in 3rd after being hung out to dry and fell back to 12th then drove hard to the front for 3rd place not bad for the 2 team. But the Big Suprise was David Gilliland coming in 2nd and not causeing any incedents just like Denny Hamlin last year minus one position. If I remember correctly Tony Stewart was the 2nd place car to Denny last year so it helps to have a good team mate behind you on Restrictor plate tracks. And what about Ricky Rudd He took a year off and still almost made the pole with RYR #88 Snickers Car! I think RYR did some development work over the winter and is running stronger this season so far.
