![]() This is all well and good, not to mention true, but like the IBM commercial says, action is required to replace all the words. fF a church group, and church group, uses the pulpit to push any political agenda, then that church group should lose its 501.c.3 status, be liable for a monetary fine, and placed on probation. If they mend their errant ways, the status of 501.c.3 can be restored.
Or a better solution is to abolish the IRS, substitute the FairTax Plan, and let freedom ring!

![]() Or, a church could renounce it's exemption. To me that is the preferred course..that way it can say & do what it is called to do without worrying about offending the powers that be. Funny thing, churches who have supported "right wing" candidates & policies have been pretty well left alone. A church in California which opposed the war from the pulpit had the IRS all over it. Makes you wonder if there is a Enemies List a la Nixon.

![]() I have oftened wondered if the IRS statue 501.c.3 is constitutional in that it infringes upon freedom of speech.
That being said: I try to keep politics out of my worship services. There is plenty of time to share personal opinions one to one with those who are interested. Keith |
