Tank Hill looks vacant without the barracks. Speaking about grease traps, that was my first $hit detail when I arrived at Ft Jackson. Barracks look the same except for some siding and new windows. The right door led to the latrine, left door into the sleeping area

Thumbs up

At Ft. Knox they only used one shitter , one urinal and one shower stall so they would not have to clean the others as much

Default Got a few more pictures.

But for some reason I was getting an error message every time I tried to submit. It was a Patriot file error message. Contacted David about it. I would very much like to thank David, as always, for helping me by reducing the pics. More to come.

These barracks were resided and the windows had been replaced. The insides were same same. The left door was for the ground floor squads and the right door went to the upstairs squad bay where I took the picture. You are correct, tank hill very bleak without the barracks, orderly rooms and armory, and those lovely mess halls.

Ron, thanks for wanting to help. Will get with you later. Also got an interesting pic I took just for you. Will try and get that up today.

Bob and Griz. Although I had fun doing this, it was a bit depressing knowing that almost everything to do with us was gone. Went to the museum but it was closed. Mon-Fri only. Won't make a special trip but if in Columbia on m-f, will stop in. At the visitors center they gave me a hard to read map. I asked how to get to the old Infantry School. Both folks laughed and said, "This place had an Infantry School?" Oh, well, found BCT.

More pics when I get home.

I do not visit this spot often anymore, Packo. Again, the story of the real Chicano work friend of mine, ages again .... was a personal one and I really wished you would not have used it, to begin with, or, would change the spelling of your name back to Packo ... or keep the "Packy" thing.

There have not been, and probably will not be, many Chicanos on this web site, and I wish that there would be no illusions to indicate otherwise.

Default Get a Grip Beau!

Geez! Let it alone. This was discussed with you a while back and we had an understanding. You in no way wanted me to change a nickname given to me in Nam. Now you bring it up again. Get a life.
