Aw shucks Keith,

In your formidable years you missed out on some great comedy shows and cartoons. Though you are quite the character, so I don't think you missed much comedy in your youth.

No one mentioned the Flintstones. "Wilma, where's Dino?" Poor Dino was hiding under the rock tablet table...

Does anyone remember the show with the little people? I don't even remember what the show was about only that they were little people.

Talking I do remember the looney tunes and Flintstones

But the flintstones where long after high school I believe. There was this old lady who had this cynical trouble making dog who she call "precious pup". The cartoon was called precious pup most of the little kids missed all the cynical points. But, I think that was when my kids were little.

Smile Color TV

My Dad was a teacher and had to find summer work. For a time, when I was a kid, he delivered furniture for the local furniture store. Come football bowl season, and there were only four bowl games then, the store owner would invite us to the store to watch the Rose Bowl Parade........IN COLOR!!!! It was a sight to behold. Colored pictures right on a TV set and all the way from California. :ek: Most people had yet to even buy a TV set and here we were watching color TV. I'll never forget that.

Advisor, you forgot Dorothy Collins! I also recall that there was sometimes a revolving door for the signers; Russell Arms (RUSSELL ARMS??????) was also a singer on the program.

I didn't look 'em up, either!

Default Westerns!

What was the name of Roy Rogers' & Dale Evans' ranch?

If that's too much of a poser, here's a site that has the answer to that and almost any other question about TV westerns.

http://www.fiftiesweb.com/western.htm

Lofty Craig; Rip Masters; Biff O'Hara. Who thought up those names! :cd:

The names were thought up by that old Radio writer "Chuck Stake" and his girlfriend "Fonda Peters."

You know, I think I do remember something like that. I was kind of like a big heavy piece of saran wrap. There was a show called Crusader Rabbit and they had a similar thing. It was a plastic film over the screen that you could draw on during the show and wipe it clean afterwards.

Jeff, Yea I think they were friends of his. The producer was I. P. Dailey. :ek:

My all-time favorite was Mr. Peabody and his pet boy Sherman, but I did like Deputy Dawg too. Do you remember that coon that always said, "Its possi-bulllll, its possi-bullll." One of our local tv stations was KTRK. They put an "I" in between their call letters and made a show called "KITIRIK." Kitirik was a lady in black tights and cat's whiskers, ears, and a tail. They would show cartoons and they had bleachers where kids could come on their birthday. Everything was live including the commercials. They did a Coca-Cola commercial every day. The stage hands would set up a table and put an opened Coke on it for her. She would tell us how good Coke is and then she would take a big slug. One day, the stage hands secretly poured half of the Coke out and filled the bottle back up with whiskey. Kitirik, as usual, told us how good Coke is, then she took a big hit......what a sight.
