Default Ron,...

...

...I do see your point about the use of fire trucks to hang up "eggs, and ears", that's not the purpose of the tax payer money,... helping hang an "Historical marker of the town" might fall under municipal business, but not the "commercialization"...

...But don't attach 'eggs, and ears" to religion, nor Santa, and trees either, "anyone can "rent" a town park for their particular sect. etc, and purposes, so it's several different aspects, and the things in your statements don't coinside together,...

Question Wane Deer?

Bob,
Wane Deer? Not Rane Deer?

I must take spelling lessons.

I'm so confused!

Brice,
So many folks have misused the term "seperation of church and state."
The constitution says: our government shall not "establish" religion.
In other words there would be no official religion like the English have with the Church of England (Episcopal) or Spain and France with the Catholic. No favoritism to denominations was what the founding fathers where trying to avoid. This idea that anything religious offered by a government agency is unconstitutional is wrong. Seperation of Church and State idea is a liberal agenda to do away with anything that promotes values in our society.

Default The Right Rev. Dr. Keith

I thought all along it was Wayne Dear, and he should have been shot, in or out of season!

And you're dead right on center target: the straw man of "separation of church and state" appears nowhere in the US Constitution, but has been used, illegitimately and perversely by liberal courts and the ACLU as a legal guiding principle. The Ten Commandments granite marker on the grounds of the State Capitol area in Austin has not coerced anyone to become a Jew, mentions no particular religion, and does not authorize the establishment of any religion. It does, however, have the salubrious effect of getting some people's panties in a severe knot on occasion! To which I can only reply

Curtis
Here in Indy, the city does decorate for the holidays, it's done by volunteers which in turn draws a big crowd to the downtown area over that period of time, generating income for the business owners and the city.

Default one last post for me on this

Its hard to make a point when you can't even agree that christmas trees, Easter bunny, and santa are religous symbols, One person says that christains aren't really christains. One says yes they decorate for the holidays. one wants me to explain where they put the holiday decorations on what public land.
Well, I could give a shit about the whole thing, A peice of wood is not a religous symbol until you tie it with another peice of wood in the form of a cross, Santa, and the bunny are religous symbols because of the time which they show up and for what reason, people can't see that, theres no point in continueing for me anyway.

Seat.
I didn't say anything about a fire truck being involved, Now that would be double stupid, Fire trucks are EMERGENCY trucks not decoration installers. I would have told anyone that this is NOT going to happen, if I was still on a truck.

You're the one that started this thread. According to your last post, if Curtis were to dress up like Santa, would that make Curtis a religious symbol? If the answer is yes......I'm not kissing his ring

Catholics show respect by kissing the ring of the pope......Now the last thing I'm gonna do is kiss Curtis's Capt Marval super decoder ring with the built in siren and strobe lights.
