![]() Bob,
I find it very coincidental that there was a story of a man trying to rope a deer on this site too. (Deer "hunting" on a Kansas farm) Hmm, ropin' an elk? That'd be a ride you'd not soon forget.

![]() I'd bring more than a rope! Remember that post about the guy who tried to rope a deer and wound up on the short end of very angry cloven-hoofed monster? And elk are bigger!

![]() Well, all the snow you see in those previous two pictures was gone in a couple days, as you can see by this picture taken yesterday.
Still and all, it is a little alarming to wake up and see all this white stuff down there. However it does snow here every year. Thats just one of the tradeoffs when you live in a state that has hills in it. the farthest peak in this picture is about 50 miles away, one of the Three Sisters. Sometimes when the fog come up outta the hollows like this I think I'm i nHeaven. Oregon reminds me of the Shire. I like to vist other places but I wouldn't live anywhere else ![]()

![]() I found out that those old black walnut hulls will work too. There is a 50+ year old tree next door and 2 years ago I tried to grow tomatoes in my back yard. Couldn't do it. I found out that the hulls that fell in my yard have poisoned the ground. The odd thing is that my mother and father had a garden back there from about 1974 - 1987 , with no problems...
We used the green ones whne I was a kid, with garbage can lids, to have wars with each other. It was OK until you got hit on the head with one... Larry
