Da ya think us northern boys went south because of the warm weather.....HELL NO!!! We knew Y'all were gonna try and start it up again......Wave the white flag for the final time.....Y'all surrounded. Melody There one thing ya gotta realize about these southern boys....Their ancestors are from the north. Think about it....The Mayflower didnt land off the coast of Tenn. (Thats what they tell everybody, but were smarter than that) As much as they want you to believe it They all came from the north and migrated south.....Kinda like ducks. Bob K

Bob,
It's real easy... Ya'll is singular. All ya'll is plural. Unless you're in Texas. If you're in Texas, then all is that black mess that comes out of the ground. |

I don't know about y'all but my Ancestor James Watkins (Watkings, Welsh spelling) came with the First Supply(Jan 1608) of Jamestown,VA . He arrived with Capt John Smith and landed near Jamestown,VA .At "Watkins" Point while surveying with Capt Smith it was named after him. My Ancestors the Watkins have always been southerns since they came from England (The Watkins family originated in Wales, UK, migrating to America in early 1600.)
This old and distinguished name is found on the records in the English colony of Jamestown. James Watkins name is on the list of passengers on the 1st supply ship arriving in Jamestown in January 1608. He is listed as a laborer. His name does not appear in the 1623 census list.(probably moved further inland to escape skeeters) Jamestown was situated on a peninsula in the James River. The mortality rate was high due to the unhealthy living conditions produced by the marshy environment Captain John Smith founded the colony in 1607. Smith named Watkins Point (near Jamestown) for James Watkins who accompanied him on the expedition. According to family lore there were three Watkins brothers that came from Wales to the 1st settlement of Jamestown. Their names are uncertain. The Jamestown census of 1624 showed only these three Watkins. They settled on the Eastern Shore. 1. Daniel Watkins 2. Henry Watkins 3. Peregree Watkins. Peregree Watkins is listed as arriving in 1621 on the ship George. He was 24 and head of his household)

Jerry....Great point. Poor Bob thinks that those Pilgrim fellers were the first to land. My family came to Virginia first and that was in 1612......a wee bit before those yankee's at Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth/Jeep rock.
Bob....with all Gimpy's learnin' ya....you'll still never really git it. J.E.B SCV Member and true Son of the South
