James,

This is starting to sound like a mutual admiration society!

Thanks..................You continue to be one of the folks I consider a REAL 'hero' in my book.

Plus...........anyone who offers to 'empty your bedpan' has gotta be a TRUE friend!

And you most definately fall into that category.

Lookin forward to finally seeing you in April.

In re-reading Gross' article and seeing the pictures, one minor change came to mind, and that pertained to the picture on page 25. That one was taken by Dave Zabecki. later BG Zabecki, and a copy of it hangs in Sen Chuck Hagel's office in DC. Interestingly enough, I took an almost identical photo from my vantage point of across the street frm the 90th Replacement Depot. The cloud int he background was the result of several pallets of willie pete rounds tht the NVA had detonated with satchel charges.

Seems that both John and I both were having to deal with incompetent senior officers that day, and thankfully, neither of us paid them much attention. Sometimes, fate does interfere and helps us out of bad situations! Or is that yet another example of Grace?

Sid :

I left Nov. 10 and the 2/22(M) starting packing up the first week in Dec. for Hawaii, so your artillery exercise must have happened in between. Was there any damage assessment done ? Quite a story.
