?You can lead a horse to water, but you can not make him drink! Some jackasses, on the other hand, merely jump right in and drown!?

No soldier starts a war -- they only give their lives to it. Wars are started by you and me, by bankers and politicians, excitable women, newspaper editors, clergymen who are ex-pacifists, and Congressmen with vertebrae of putty. The youngsters yelling in the streets, poor kids, are the ones who pay the price.

Francis P. Duffy [1871-1932] Catholic Priest

Quote:
Wars are always a nasty thing, and the bloody sword of destruction usually cuts in both directions.

If not wielded by the original architect, then certainly by those who come after, or those who will not allow spilled blood to have been shed without retaliation!

War, regardless of scope, is not a turkey shoot, but rather a reciprocating action with dire consequences to the innocent as well as the guilty, to the dove as well as the despot, to the instigator and orator alike!

And who is to say, wherein the true evil rests - be it within captured power itself or in the questioning of the corrupted use of that power.

Evil, after all, can not flourish or be maintained, were it not for those who exalt or follow the banner of a beast!

Default monday,

Quote:
In carefully scrutinizing the affairs of the past, we find that there are many different opinions about them, and that there are some things that are quite unclear. It is better to regard such things as unknowable. Lord Sanenori once said,

"As for the things that we don't understand, there ere ways of understanding them. Furthermore, there are some things we understand just naturally, and again some that we can't understand no matter how hard we try. This is interesting."

This is very profound. It is natural that one cannot understand deep and hidden things. Those things that are easily understood are rather shallow.

Learning is a good thing, but more often it leads to mistakes. It is like the admonition of the priest Konan. It is worthwhile just looking at the deeds of accomplished persons for the purpose of knowing our own insufficiencies. But often this does not happen. For the most part, we admire our own opinions and become fond of arguing. Hagakure

Thumbs up Brad

You been getting to much sunlight. Seek cover. I always kind of admired sappers . They look good on the wire in the morning.
