Neat. Sounds good to me. I spent the weekend trying to clean up..not done yet..and laying down a new floor and installing a new toilet. Wheeee what fun! Looks great though!
Firebird hasnt been touched yet. It'll get there though. Really.

Default I'm baaaacckkk

Hope everyone is fine. Went out the Black Hills of SD to visit the in-laws. Now, I'm a year older than when I left. Went to Mt. Rushmore on the evening of 9-11. They had a very moving ceremony of rememberance and the place was packed. Every single person there had an American flag and they were waving them proudly.

Lt, I hope your friend "flat Bobby" is a guy.

Vetgirl, redesigned?????????? :cd:

Somebody slide a beer down the bar, half a day back at work and I'm thirsty already.

Got the Mustang fixed. New head, intake and exhaust manifolds, thermostat, radiator cap, etc. and while we were at it, wheel bearings and seals, window seals...

Just a little fine tuning on the carburetor but that's normally done at this time of year anyway.
There always seems to be some little thing to fix, tweek or adjust while waiting for the big parts to arrive.

Now for the next project. Finishing painting the house outside before the weather turns.

I need a job. Being unemployed is way too hard. Too much to do.

Hoyin,

Would love to get together and play with cars

Where do you live in California? Pete has been sending me info on jobs in San Diego. :re:

Seriously, I got a call from an agency wanting to know if I was interested in an Technical Aide job today. Bottom line, he wanted to know if I was interested in a job that didn't even require a high school diploma when I have an AS in Civil and BS in Mechanical.

I ranted for a while

I'm looking into graduate school. :re:

Question Joy?

Do you think its because you are a woman.?
That's a real insult!! To anyone who earned a degree. I think I'd have a little talk with my agency.

Keith,

Yes.
Their ideal candidate is Pete, our sailor, with my education and experience.

Or Chris our computer geek with my education and experience.

I have raised a family, sometimes while going to school, gotten good grades (never below 3.22) worked hard and whenever I look for a new job I get the same SHIT.

What were you doing during this time period, what kind of degree is this (ABET Accredited, Stupid) why did you get your Associates in Civil in 84 and your BS in Mechanical in 92 (limited options based on location). Why don't you have a PE license? Because a PE has to hire me first and I have to work for a PE for 7 years before I get to even take the test.

The only people they seem to be interested in are those whose resume reads in a straight line

Graduated from High School, Graduated College, Got job, promoted, looking for something in the same line

Sorry fellas. I chose to be a mother and didn't go to college until Chris went to kindergarden. I got my AS in Civil at 30. When I couldn't find a permanent job, I returned to school in 89 and graduated from CWU in 92.

(edited due to ranting)

Thank you for understanding.
Joy

*slides a beer down to drywall*

Joy I hate to hear that kind of stuff. San Diego does have a lot of jobs but the economy is not too hot so don't feel you are missing much unless you like to pay 400k for a 140k house, $5.50 for a pack of smokes, and $3.00 for a gallon of gas. If you do end up out here though we will have to BBQ!!!
