Thumbs up

As of October 7, 2008, the surviving families of all POWs who died in enemy captivity from 7 December 1941 to the present, from causes such as beatings, starvation, lack of medical care, exposure etc, are eligible to apply for a Posthumois Purple Heart Medal. It was a long, hard, uphill battle, but now, thank God, these brave warriors, some 17,000 to 21,000 of them, will finally be awarded, be it in death, the regognotion that they deserve!

"A special thanks to Margaret Diann for posting my uncle Melvin's picture etc."

Brenda
