Thanks Keith, not trying to bring back bad memories, just trying to let people know what we do everyday. To me, it seems as though people do not realize what firefighters and first responders do everyday. The dangers they face and people they help. Our profession is almost as thankless as that of the soldier but no less dangerous.

A veteran Brookline, Mass., firefighter has died as a result of injuries received in the line of duty.
NewsCenter 5's Gail Huff reported that Irwin "Buzz" Gross, 58, of Natick, Mass., died at Beth Israel Hospital Monday night.

Tahnks for the report about the two engines. It's such a great reminder that when we are responding with lights and sirens, it is so important to stay safe. It's a lose/lose situation if you get injured or killed while rushing to save someonel else. Remember this sad episode when you are respnding catman, as I will. Blessings,

Joseph E. Bowles, 58, a firefighter from the Cumberland Road Station 5 and Westarea Station 10 in Fayetteville, North Carolina died while working at the station on May, 11, 2004.
According to USFA, Firefighter Bowles was on shift performing routine station and apparatus maintenance when he collapsed from an apparent heart attack. He had not responded to any calls within 24 hours of his death. After being transported to a nearby hospital, he was pronounced dead.

Teen S.C. Firefighter Killed in Crash

Anderson County Deputy Coroner Charlie Bozeman said Michael Martin was responding to an emergency call with the Ebenezer Fire Department just after 6 a.m. when his pickup ran off Wright School Road and struck a tree.

Sharon Springs, New York State Firefighter Collapses While Battling House Fire

Jeffrey W. Howell, 42, a member of the Sharon Springs Fire Department, was one of the first firefighters at the scene of a farmhouse that caught fire just after 5 p.m. Thursday. He was working outside the house and suffered heat exhaustion when he collapsed, authorities said.

Alabama Fire Chief Dies At EMS Seminar

"It was an overwhelming thing for us," said Assistant Chief Richard Oliver of the Green Pond Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service. Chief Harry Edward Suggs joined the department four years ago and became chief a year later. He formerly worked as a career firefighter at the Adamsville Fire Department.

Connie C. Bornman, 56, a firefighter and EMT for Middle River Volunteer Rescue Company died while assisting a patient on Monday at approximately 3 p.m.
Bornman was a volunteer for the Middle River Volunteer Rescue Company for the past four years according to Division Chief Harold C. Cohen. According to Cohen, she was on a call assisting a patient that was suffering from chest pains, when she went out to get a little fresh air. She sat in the front of the truck with the air conditioning on thinking it was the heat that was causing her trouble.

Tuesday, June 22, 2004 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Georgia Firefighter Found Unconscious At Station -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- cms.firehouse.com/content/article/article.jsp?sectionId=46&id=31936 William Lacy, a firefighter with the Augusta Fire Department, was discovered unconscious at the fire station Thursday, June 17. According to Chief Al Gillespie, Firefighter Lacy, 47, was discovered by his fellow firefighters in the dormitory area at approximately 8:00 a.m. He was unresponsive and crew members were unable to revive him. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:30 p.m.
