it was "It may make Artie choke, but it ain't gonna make Symie choke". Not being a creep, but have been saying that for years everytime an "artiechoke" comes into the conversation.

Great stuff.

Pack,
Ah ha, another memory for the humorous but strange, thanks for the correction. Anybody remember the recognition high sign? I have used that when encountering mindless bureaucracy. In delivery it comes out like, “Here is the high sign, so just run document copies as requested, and yes, I’m the author so no further authorization is needed.”

He he, the clerks looked at me like I had a pickle growing out my forehead. The clerks rule the world, so swimming up stream can't hurt, may not help, but can't hurt either. Fun is where ya find it, I reckon.

Default Whose got some data on the East Side Gang

I remember them as well. The one with Gagney I always see on TV. I think many of those boys were short lived as well. The Little Rascals is the only show I can get my grandson to sit down and watch.

The recognition high sign was the back of the hand under the chin and wiggling the fingers. Damn, Boats, you popped a memory neuron. ‘Mugs’ McGinnis as I recall, kind of the lead guy, at least the guy with the smarts, more or less. Really messed up the English language, but cleverly so. Dont recall Cagney being part of that, but I don't really know.

Boats and Scamp,

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like ya'll are talking about the group of actors that started in film as "The Dead End Kids" in the 1930s and vamped into "The East Side Kids" in the 1940s and finally "The Bowery Boys" through 1958.

If so, that would have been Leo Gorcey as "Mugs McGinnis" and Huntz Hall as "Satch Jones".

In this photo, Huntz Hall is on the right, Leo Gorcey in the center.

You are correct. None of the "Dead End Kids" were members of The little rascals. The one that Boats is referring to is my favorite also. "Angles with Dirty Faces". Great movie. "ROCKY DIES COWARD AT THE END" I'm sure you can come up with a picture from the movie for us.

Scamp....I still knew the High Sign. Had to think for a minute. Wish you'd have waited longer.

Hell sakes Pack, he he, I’m just doing a neuron pop exercise, kind of a fun deal. Not many would know about the High Sign deal, but I assure you I used it well and in the up most respect to the original club members and to great affect. And no, I’m no expert on this legacy stuff, just have neuron pops about this and that, no more. Steve gives us a fine medow path of memory to follow and that is good. Damn, miss Andy in all this, he the man that know, God bless his memory, amen.

Oh my, Andy got on my butt about “ Badge, I got no stinking badge”; a Hollywood one liner from Wallace Berry. I mean Andy knew his stuff but missed that one and got friendly-growl bear about all that. Good to see the good times roll again and just having some fun.
