Doc
I think you lost it in a stone quarry. When I called it, the guy at the other end wanted to know how many rocks I needed
I kept hearing a beeping noise similar to the sound the DEA uses when recording drug dealers

Default Dumb question

Bob,
We both know the phone company wants the phone to be stolen so they don?t have to play games with their insurance company, but wouldn?t you still take a report of the thing being missing? In sort of a similar vain, a guy is in his new car and smashes into a tree on his own property. He doesn?t make an initial report, no one was hurt. When he sees the insurance company they demand a police report. So a week after the incident the car owner drops a dime on you. Don?t you make a report? A short report and one where every sentence begins with, ?According to the owner??, but a report nonetheless.

Stay healthy,
Andy
PS: Did you tell them what state you were from???

No
We keep our paperwork to a minimum. A lost cell phone is not a crime.....NO REPORT. Now as far as the idiot who crashed his car into a tree on his own property......No Injury, NO REPORT........Crash occured on private property, NO REPORT.
Delayed by more than 48 hours. NO REPORT.. Under $1000.00
in damage and no injuries (we do the estimate) NO REPORT..
And then to add insult to injury we hand dumbass a blank form to fill out regarding the accident. He has ten days to mail it to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles or they suspend his license
Insurance companies dont run the police dept here, we do.
By not catering to the insurance companies wishes, it frees up
the cops to do what they do best (I know what ya'll thinking.... eat donuts)

Andy, now that your the Commish, this is the time to change a few things.

Unhappy Bob

Our laws, rules, regulations and procedures come from the State House. Those people, who are lower on the food chain that lice, all work at least indirectly for insurance companies. Thus cops work for the insurance companies. Do you have any idea how much insurances people spend on elections? No small town mayor, never mind his underlings, are going to change that.

Just like Vietnam, different units different procedures. I?m sure it?s the same way in Iraq.

Stay healthy,
Andy

There's nothing more enjoyable then to watch the insurance companies back peddle when you ask them the question "are
you asking your customer to commit a crime?"....Whats even more fun is to testify in civil court over a law suit involving an accident.....Attorneys representing insurance companies are lower than lice

I called the insurance company and got this recording threatening all kinds of bad ju ju if I falsified anything on my report. The whole thing was a recording, punch buttons kind of thing. It asked if I had filed a report with the police and I said yes. That is all it asked about that. So now I am a fugitive and running from the law.

Fred
The big question is: Did you really file a report?
