Default Flash back, way back

Been moving stuff around the house the past couple of weeks since my youngest son moved out. One of the things that had to be moved was the file cabinet and since I was moving it I decided to reorganize some of it. Got to the "Army" file and started pulling out papers. OH SH .. T!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what did I get into???????????

Just wondering, how many out there have a DD Form 4 in their records? Case the form number doesn't ring a bell mine was signed by an Air Force 1st Lt. Ramsey Jr. and SSGT. White USA at the Armed Forces Examining and Entrance Station, Cleveland, Ohio on15 Oct 65. It's also signed by meand when I picked up the pen I was a civilianbut when I put the pen down I was a Pvt., USA.

I like the DD214 in the folder better.

The DD4 was used as a enlistment/re-enlistment form , I signed one while in VN.
The DD4-1 is what they use now. same thing except they have a clause that lets them out if what was agreed on doesn't happen.

That was the oath and swearing in, after you signed that paper, and had that guy told you. Bend over and spead-em.

Yep sure was Ron, I repeated that oath at least 6 times in a 22 year career.

If anyone would have had a DD214 I knew it would be you. You are always so organized. Thats a good thing.

I think my husband still has his DD214 somewhere with our important papers.
