Post Tony Dungy's Son found dead in his apartment.

Sad to hear about it. Tony seems like a great guy. I hope for the family's sake at this time it is natural causes.

Keith

LUTZ, Fla. (AP) -- James Dungy, the 18-year-old son of Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy, was found dead in a Tampa-area apartment Thursday.

No foul play is suspected, but a cause of death won't be announced pending an autopsy, sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.

James Dungy's girlfriend found him when she returned to the Campus Lodge Apartments at about 1:30 a.m., Carter said.

He wasn't breathing, and a sheriff's deputy performed CPR before an ambulance rushed him to University Community Hospital, Carter said. He was pronounced dead there.

Carter said "nothing evident" was amiss in the apartment, but declined to discuss details.

Tony Dungy has left the Colts and is in Tampa. The Colts (13-1) are at Seattle on Saturday, and team president Bill Polian said that assistant head coach Jim Caldwell has taken over for Dungy.

Keith - we were talking about that earlier today. Regret hearing anyone loosing a kid. That's pretty tough around the holidays too.

Be careful Seahawks.....incentive to "win one for the gipper"....so to speak.

A close friend of mine has 2 super bowl rings with the Steelers. We have talked of Tony Dungee many times. Not only was he a great defensive back, he is a helluva human being. Have always wanted him to do well. He built the Bucs, only to have them taken away. I'm a Panther man to the end, but would love to see Tony get another ring....(if it isnt against the Panthers) only this time, for being a coach.

Prayers out for Tony and his family. This is sad, no matter the season. Sure hope it wasn't drugs.

A father's loss of a son is the probably the worst level of loss. Tony Dungy does indeed seem to be a real stand-up guy and has done great things for professional football. Anything he ever achieves in his sports career will never compare to the pride that comes with growing his son James into a handsome, educated young man.

May he be of blessed memory!

This is very sad ..... why is it crap like this always happens to the good guys? Tony Dungy is a class act and his team reflects that class
