I served with the 25th Inf. Div. from Nov 69 to Nov 70 as an 11C20, 81MM mortar gunner, FDC guy and .50 gunner in a mechanized infantry unit.

...Is a fall through the cracks Veteran who lives down by our garage, he's very smart, but has suffers from the "shakes", not just from booze, something neurological I guess, not much info on how the Va. takes care of him, I believe he's "within the social services system', section 8 etc, SS,...

...he stops in and collects the cans for returns for extra pocket money, the people he """lives""" with take his check for his living quarters, and have heard some not so nice stuff about them second hand, but none the less, we look out for him, I keep trying to pull info out of him to see what I can do, but he's reluctant, as most are, too proud, slip him a $20.00 every now, and then,...

...his mother just passed on, and might have left him something to help, again, can't pry open a hurtin' heart,...

...was gonna take him in, but I'm in a different County, and might mess up what he has goin' on within the system, just bugs me, I think he should be 100%, but he seems to be passed on to the Federal system which is far less $'s the n the Va,...
