RAF MILDENHALL, England -- Air Force Tuition Assistance was suspended March 11 due to budget constraints. The long-term fate of the Air Force Tuition Assistance is unknown, but there are some options for our people.

The RAF Mildenhall Education Center stands ready to assist anyone (service members, civilians and adult-age dependents) who still plan to attend college using available federal options (Veterans Affairs benefits or Free Application for Federal Student Aid grants and loans) or corporate and organizational scholarships rather than Air Force Tuition Assistance.

1. Airman may continue to pursue their educational goals with their VA education benefits to include benefits listed below. More information, such as benefit comparison tools, are available at www.gibill.va.gov.
a. Montgomery GI Bill -- Active Duty (Chapter 30)
b. Post 9/11 GI Bill, (Chapter 33)

2. Airman can also use Federal resources such as the Pell Grants and Loans. Members will need to apply on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
a. Federal Student Aid: http://studentaid.ed.gov/fafsa
b. College Financial Aid: www.finaid.org

3. There are a myriad amount of corporate and organizational scholarships available. Scholarship search engines include:
