Fighting By The Other Guy?s Rules?

All throughout history, he who fought by the other guy?s rules - USUALLY LOST!

When ABEL turned his back upon Cain, he got nailed!

When the Aztecs used spears and arrows, Cortez used muskets and cannon!

When Ethiopia tried to battle Mussolini with 19th Century weaponry - they lost!

And when we attempted to fight in Vietnam and Somalia with diplomacy, we found ourselves in a no-win situation as well!

The bottom line is, at least as I see it, that if you fight by the other guy?s rules, you are damned well going to come up short every time!!

So what have we learned over the centuries about attempting to do battle on the other gent?s turf, or using his tactics? No more, I am afraid than our tea-sipping bros from England learned when they attempted to use European tactics to contend with our (Indian-Like) hit and run, hide and seek, way of doing battle during the opening rounds of the first American Revolution!

He who has an advantage in warfare, and fails to use it (like the Atomic Cannon of Korea or this MOAB of late), may be a gentleman warrior in the eyes of the world, but in the eyes of his mortal foe - he is a damned fool to be exploited! (opinion)

Granted, we don?t want to go around nuking the bad guys, even though they would do it to us if they got the chance. But no great power has ever remained a great power when they, like a few within the later Roman Senate, or even Neville Chamberlain, took it on the chin without even getting in a lick!

Remember this - ?THE BEST DEFENSE IS STILL A DAMNED GOOD OFFENSE, AND A WILLINGNESS TO USE IT, IF NEEDS MUST!?

BOTTOM LINE - ?IT?S NICE TO BE NICE, BUT NOT TOO DAMNED NICE!!?
