The True Story of the 101st Airborne Division
...aired last night on the History Channel.
Very well done program. If those of you that were following the PLF and parachute discussion in another thread recently watched this program, then you got to see some good film footage of the T-5 parachute in action. You fellow paratroopers probably noticed how fast those white canopies deployed, and how the inflated canopies billowed down in the middle when the suspension lines went tight. That was the result of that trooper going from 100 mph to 0 mph in a fraction of a second. You definitely did not want a loose harness then. Has to do with what Gen McCauliffe said at Bastogne: "Nuts!" Airborne! Steve / 82Rigger
