More Exchange Task Force Launches Website The group charged with putting together a detailed plan to integrate the three military exchange services into one organization has launched a Website. More Government Travel Charge Card Scam All Government Travel Charge cardholders should be alerted that during the past week, there have been several reports of external fraudulent activity targeted toward or affecting the government's charge card program. More Helpline Gives Airmen Vital Info The Air Force is expanding efforts to take care of its own with a 24-hour-a day "Air Force One Source" live helpline for airmen and their families. More LINK-Perspective Transitions to Web Format in May LINK-Perspective magazine is now available online at the Navy Personnel Command (BUPERS) Web site. More Medical, Dental Officer Promotions Announced The Air Force has selected 619 medical and dental corps officers for promotion. The officers were chosen by the colonel, lieutenant colonel and major medical and dental corps selection boards that convened at the Air Force Personnel Center Nov. 17. More Medieval Times Offers Free Dinners to Military Members Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament Castles are offering a free dinner for two for all Soldiers redeploying from Afghanistan and Iraq or on rest & recuperation leave from Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom. More Military Retirees to See Pay Increase An estimated 150,000 military retirees will see an increase in their pay as of February 2. The National Defense Authorization Act, enacted in November, significantly modified a long-standing law preventing retirees from receiving full, retired pay if they also received disability pay from the Department of Veterans Affairs. More Radio Show to Address Children's Deployment Issues Parents of very young children affected by military deployments may find help by listening to a special radio interview Feb. 4. More Signing Bonus for Navy Nurses Doubles to $10,000 According to the Naval News Service, the Navy has doubled the bonus for direct accession nurses entering active duty from $5,000 to $10,000. More VA Gets Record Budget for FY 2004 The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) will receive a record budget of $64 billion for the current fiscal year, up $4.2 billion from the previous spending level.
