Thank y'all. Ecompany I did not know there was a Lam Som277. I just learned the 719 was for the year 71 - and RT 9. Ron saw that old French tank in 68 but I never saw it. Welcome home to all and esp. Frank , Sid and Beau who took part in that operation also.

Know this, John: Scouts are out for you, in advanced guard mode. One of the best lessons I've learned is that journaling, and even sometimes sharing those entries, are some of the most cathartic and healing opportunities I've ever had to open my hearts to others. And I've learned that people who make themselves vulnerable to trusted others will find a purer form of solace than most will ever know.

Beau, I think that Dewey Canyon was the buildup of troops and setting of commands that then launched the operation of Lam Son 719 into Laos.Brice , thanks again for helping me understand. I have had several healing opportunities with this community and am thankful to be here. Scouts Out , sir !!

I guess it is the way of things for us Army boaties --- few knew we even existed and we are not mentioned in the list of participating units on one website. I have mailed a Point of Contact for that web page and mentioned that I/we hauled tons of ammo up there during the timeframes mentioned. It occurs to me that with all the tens of hundreds of hundreds of enemy killed, we/I were partially and heavily responsible ---- far more so directly than a regular War supporting, or protesting, tax payer back at home.

We were larger than a mike boat ... we were The Lost Boatalion. Ah. don't matter ... I still go out out on rivers and the Bay now and then at work , and my girl got her first soccer goal of the year. And, as to that other life time ... it's like that old West Point ballad "everywhere we gooo-OOoooo, people wanta know, who we ... R-ah, where we come from."

Beau,
Tell your girl congratulations! My girl just got her first goal of the year. She plays college soccer. If Mogli (sp?) wants to see a picture of her go to milligan college.edu then athletics then women's athletics then women's soccer. She is the one kicking the ball in the top picture on that page.
