The Enemy Within

It has long been a fact of life that spies exist on all sides, and their motivation can vary from hate, to loyalties, to just plain greed!

The late Senator Joseph McCarthy, a man known to be overly zealous at times, warned of the "Enemy Within!? Of course to ?Old Tail-gunner Joe?, every time you flipped a rock, turned a page, or looked around the next corner, there stood ?Old Mata Hari Herself!"

Well, Joe McCarthy has got to be saying ?I Told Ya So? from that ?Big Bureaucracy In The Sky?, and although the scope of treachery today may not be as all-encompassing as McCarthy may want to envision it, it exists none the less!

The open door policy of the United States has long enticed the "World?s Most Promising!" Unfortunately, however, it has also welcomed those looking for a handout, streets of gold, ill-gotten affluence, and even for a shot at doing us grievous harm! ?And there is often no way to tell what prize lurks at the bottom of yon package of Cracker-Jacks!?

In conflicts past, at least since the terminus of the "American Civil War", the field of action have always been ?OVER THERE!? The enemy was well defined and oft-time easily spotted, although even this was taken to extremes from time to time. ?The internment of "Loyal Japanese Americans" during World War II being a tragic case in point!? And a great many of these "Americans Of Asian Decent" gallantly distinguished themselves in outfits such as the famous "442 Regimental Combat Team!"

Nowadays, however, far too many arrive upon our shores who do not totally shed the yoke of oppression (Mental or Physical) that binds them to the nation of their forefathers! Heritage and customs are often a healthy thing here in the ?Great Melting Pot?, but when a scant few of these people still opt to owe part of their loyalties and allegiances to a different nation, especially an enemy nation, then an inherent danger exists!

I have never liked any title that preceded ?American? with another nation or region (i.e. Asian-American, Hispanic-American, Euro-American, African-American, etc! If this (USA) is your home, if you work here, thrive here, go to school here, and partake of the liberties offered here, then you have no need for a qualifying title, for you my friend are ?All American? (regardless of ancestry), and that is more than enough! (opinion)

The news of late has been replete with accounts of people living upon our shores who have resorted to acts of violence and terrorism. Some of these misguided fools were, in fact, even born here! For one reason or another, however, they find it necessary to bend to "Old World Ways and Demands?"

Part of my ancestry is French, but it is just that - ?ANCESTRY ALONE (over two centuries removed)!? But when France, and other allied nations, whom ?We Americans? have pulled (literally) from the fires of oblivion more than once, betrayed our trust, our friendship our brotherly love, and our assistance, by seeking to champion that ?Madman Hussein? for something as base as oil ($$), then they too garnered my contempt, as do all who refuse to see an evil that could severely injure our way of life and generations of free men and women yet unborn!

And when a resident of our nation seeks to cause death and mayhem to his own (like several terrorists in the news, living here in the United States have of late), then that person is indeed a ?Man (or Woman) Without A Country!? (opinion)

We Americans may not always agree with what is going on here, and that is our right! We can even protest and vote against that which we feel to be in error - that is our responsibility! But to seek to injure or even kill our brothers and sisters for a foreign doctrine, is an abomination, a crime, and anti-American by any definition of the word!

VERITAS
