Default Welcome to our new member "SparrowHawk62"

Great to have you aboard !! I live near Millington, TN. and have my whole life. My father worked there from 1944 - 1976 as a civilian. Take care.

A bit about me and my boat..
Well, I'm new here so I guess a little back ground on me is in order. I was in the US Navy from Oct 79 to Jul 87.
I went to Boot Camp in Great Lakes Ill. Co. 267-79
On to AC school at NATTC Millington, Tenn. (academic drop)
AFUND P at NATTC Millington
Assigned to NAS Memphis while awaiting orders.
Sent to the Fleet to join the crew on the USS Independence CV-62
MY BOAT!
Left the Indy to go to School for CSP
Went to NETTC, Newport, RI to serve as Brig Staff at the Naval Brig.

I currently help my USS Independence Shipmates as her curise book historian.
I was an ABH-2.

Well, thank you. So far I'm damned glad to be here!
Yeah, I like Millington for the time I was there. Nice town, and great white lighting...

You weren't running booze on the Independence, were you?

That Must be what the White Lightening is all about.

Yeah, spelling is not my forte. There was an old man who ran a gas station on Military Highway, man did he sell gas!

Nope, I ran no booze on the Indy. I did run into some BT punch, and some bilge whine now and then..
