The 10th Special Forces Group was split between Ft. Devens and Bad Tolz, Germany.

when i was at b-36 training the cambodian army the 5th group pulled out of vietnam, myself and other s.f. who were in the special projects were still in country, when it came time for me to return home i was offered another stripe to staff sgt. e-6 to stay, some of the guys did, i didnt.

i have never heard of s.f. recruiting an mos, but that doesnt mean it didnt happen.

to this day i don't know the route s.f. officers took to become qualified. i suspect they dont know the avenues the enlisted men took and add to that the fact that things changed due to prevailing conditions and s.f. needs a person should be careful about making generalizations that was not with in their personal experience.

I was also and E-5 at the time. My guess is that Special Forces knew if I accepted I'd have to re-up because they didn't want a shorttimer for sure. I'd have to go through jump school and some other special training and I'm not sure what that entailed because I went home and continued my education and got married.

PRU435;
Thanks for the compliment on the Robeson knives.
However, did you see the photo of myself, Andy Anderson, Clyde the monkey, Specialist Cahill, SSG McLain and Martha Raye?

Anybody else check out my website? MortarDude? Paco? etc?

Do you think I made all that up, or that the photo is not real or that I'm a bald faced liar?

If you think I'm ligit, then say so, and clear up all this crap about my friend Mike Parks, FarmBoy.

Sid Herndon had him as ligit and had offered a "Partial Apology" at the other PF site until your administrator came up with the Wichita allegation. I don't know anything about David's computer skills, but I know where Mike lives and it isn't Kansas. It also isn't in the South, so your friends over at PF-2 can stop with the ridiculous Southern dialect crap. Mike's a Mid-Westerner, and again, it isn't Kansas. He grew up on a farm, he lives on a farm.

Mike had a sucking chest wound in late November or early December, 1969. It's been forty years, cut me some slack on my sixtytwo year old memory. He was out on an op with one other American SF, I forget who, possibly 1st LT Hull, the XO, two VNSF, and about sixty CIDG. Mike was airlifted by litter onto a Huey and med-evacked. I was the Medical Specialist, then the Medical Supervisor at A-341, Bu Dop. We were under seige from Oct69 to Jan70. We were taking incoming all day and night for weeks. When the field hospital folks told Mike he was being sent to Japan, he got dressed, went AWOL from the hospital and hitched a ride back to Bu Dop on a Dollar-Nineteen. We covered for him. He stayed with us. I treated his wound until it was completely healed. I left in Apr70, and Mike was still on duty when I derosed.
I do not care one damn what Maj Sid Herndon or any body on this site or at PF-2 states, Mike Parks was SF selected out of AIT, SF trained, SF qualified, and had an "S" in his MOS. He was one of our two radio operators at Bu Dop. The other was Gil Aparis, now deceased and buried in Golden State Military Cemetary in California.

I have photos of Mike standing beside a C-130 aircraft that crashed on take-off at Bu Dop on 3Dec69, going through our perimeter wire, and killing four B-36 3rd Mobile Strike Force CIDG soldiers that were in the trenches, napping during Poc Time that day. B-36 was there helping us out with all the NVA outside our wire. They were commanded by Maj Ola Mize and SGM Forrester, both from Gadsden, Alabama. Col Mize (retired) was an MOH recipient from the Korean War.

Run all that by Herndon.

This could have been avoided had he not acted like every wannabe that has ever crossed the site i.e. he showed up out of nowhere with the typical wannabe story, SF/wounded/etc. etc. etc. and then proceeded to insult members.

The IP allegation is not an allegation it is fact. Farmboy and Randy have used the same IP. Due to the fact that it is an AOL proxy IP in some instances more then one person may be assigned to route through that proxy and end up on the same site. More often then not though it is a dead giveaway to a troll pleading his case.

Look it is simple, this is our house, you/your people/whomever came stomping in kicking over the furniture. Did you not expect to get tossed out on your ear?

We are very accepting once we have a chance to get to know someone. Most people here have been together over ten years. We have gathered at various locations across the county and have met in person numerous times over those years. No one is going to walk in here with a list of past accomplishments and earn anything more then a glance until he is known to be whom he says he is.

Thanks David......."You're "one in a million". Glad to see you exposing farmboy, Randy C and whoever else that's posting messages all from the same computer.
farmboy just never came across as being legit to me from the get go. Claimed he went to jump school at Ft Gordon when everybody and their brother that's been in the Army knows Ft Gordon "never" had a jump school, claimed he was plucked out of jump school to go through Special Forces Training even though SF has hundreds of jump school recruits in tip top physical condition who was a 3.0 & 4.0 in high school trying to become Green Berets

Default only the humble need apply

i'm sorry, is this list for non-s.f. only? is it for those who offer their experiences in a non-adversarial manner? if you are a new guy here should your posts be non-contraversial? if i'm called a wannabee because my military experience doesnt jive with someone elses does that mean i should be banned?

i c jcoad is banned and i dont undersand why, what did he say? i need to know so that i dont cross one of those in charge by not being humble enough.

jump on this:
from ccn i ran top secret ground recon on the ho chih minh trail in laos, myself another s.f. and maybe 6 indigs to a team.

from b-36 i was in charge of a company of cambodes and led them on missions, usually the only american or sometimes with another s.f. i was training.

i had many battle injuries and i have the purple heart and the cib the only 2 medals that mean much to me.

i did most of these things when i was 19 years old, i turned 20 in vietnam.

it is becoming a point of amusement to be special forces, a decorated vietnam veteran and to be banned from this group.

i dont have enough posts to link to my website but its my last name hoefling and its a com site.

i hope ive given you enough ammo to call me a wannabee and ban me.

God bless you

Like I said earlier, Mike might be considered by some to be an asshole, but he's our asshole, and, there was a no more welcomed voice on the other end of radio communications when I was in deep shit with the NVA on the Cambodian border north of Bu Dop. He saved my life. I'm here to look out for his personal reputation, and I will not see it besmirched unanswered.

I understand Mike ruffled some feathers. However, someone here questioned him about his green beret (note the lower case, it's only a hat) avatar. Some one else called him a Wannabee, then a liar, "farmboy" with a lower case "f", then a "sumbitch".

He's a wounded SF Soldier that went AWOL from an Army field hospital to return to his A-Team and complete his second of two consecutive tours at the same camp.

He's being raked over the coals at PF-2, as well. They're talking about him as though he were an f****** dog over there.

And all because Maj Herndon was unaware that young first tour NCO's were being accepted into SF in the 60's and 70's, an allegation, BTW, that he has already recanted on PF-2.

I came here for the sole purpose of defending my friend and fellow SF Team mate, Mike Parks, after you had permanently banned him and Randy Cesani, a multi-tour SF and SOG veteran, from the site.

As soon as I know his name has been cleared here, and at PF-2, you won't be hearing from me again.
